What is a Therapeutic Preschool?

Our therapeutic preschool is an early intervention preschool designed for children diagnosed with autism spectrum disorders.  The focus is on improving the core symptoms of autism including social communication, social awareness, social cognition, social motivation, flexibility, play skills, sensory processing, and improving restricted interests.  Children are also taught to regulate their emotions during times of distress and taught to use their communication skills instead of negative behaviors to get their needs met.

Skills are taught in a 1:1 setting with staff trained in ABA therapy using play and natural routines.
